admbell I am in possesion of a old brass spy glass with a name and a address enscribed on it the address is "Grie de Valois. Palais-Royal". I would really appreciate any info on this that any one has. thanks
Betsy I am guessing that Palais-Royal is in Paris. It used to be a royal palace, but long in the past the garden was enclosed with arcades which house shops and restaurants. Today the Michelin guide for Paris says "there are shops in the arcade specialising in the unique, the luxurious: decoration, medals, porcelain, stamp and antique shops." There has been a shopping arcade there since at least 1876. The Grie de Valois might have been or may still be one of the shops.
knight1133 I don't want to confuse any one but I just finished studying about it. the one I studys was a theater and was originally called tha plais-cardnal after cardnal richliu (don't trust the spelling) after his death it was given the name palais-royal.
